Process

This comic was made for the class Graphic Memoir and Graphic Journalism (Fall 2024). The comic “The Incident” was sketched and inked traditionally before being scanned. Digitally some of the inking was inverted. Other areas were blacked out. The dialogue was also added in digitally with real things that were heard during an attack on Peg’s Place.

“The Incident” on Peg’s Place was a real event that happened in 1979. Reports came in of a group of men being denied entry and harming the patrons. Patrons were left harmed with the doorwoman being kept in a chokehold, a woman receiving a head injury, another being beaten by a pool stick, etc…
